In the four years that I was a manufacturing representative for Simonton Windows and Comfort Design Incorporated I was fortunate to be involved with many talented individuals. One of those individuals was Jay Faulkner. I first met Jay when he was the lead window installer for Sears Home Improvements. The window that was manufactured for Sears is one of the best replacement window products in the market, but also one of the most difficult to install. It is engineered to be installed in a market where construction is much different than what we have in the Pacific Northwest. Having said that, when installed properly it is one of the best performing products you can buy. I was lucky enough to see a number of the jobs Jay installed and spoke to many very happy customers. In time I began to draw on Jay’s installation knowledge and advice to help me in service situations. He was always cooperative and willing to spend time to make sure I understood. Many times he knew just what to do or what to tweak to remedy a situation.

When my family and I bought a 1964 built home on Bainbridge Island one of the first things we did was to replace the old aluminum single pane windows. The choice was obvious who we would get to install the replacement windows. Jay and his crew did a wonderful job removing the old windows and retrofitting the new vinyl units in their place. Jay also did a nice variation of his standard install so I could trim out the windows in the manner I wanted. Jay and his crew were neat, clean and conscientious of our home and its surroundings. And they were great with my family and no question or request was too small. We are thrilled with the work they did and have enjoyed the past two years with our new energy efficient windows.

From the day I have met Jay he has operated with this call to action. Give the customer the best product and installation available. Conduct your self ethically and conscientiously. That is what they deserve. I would recommend Jay’s company to anyone looking for a great value.

Jay’s Siding and Windows just finished installing lovely Simonton double hung windows in my WWII era home. Before I signed the contract, Jay spent a good deal of time informing me about windows. Jay had told me precisely what day the windows would come in and called me to let me know. He installed the windows on the day he had scheduled.

The inside and outside wooden moldings were a hodge-podge, so Jay had to customize each window so the molding would be uniform. He used recommended cedar for the outside moldings. Jay worked with his twin sons and they were quiet, unobtrusive and tidy. They laid runner carpets inside and out to protect the floors. They promptly cleaned up any debris.

They removed and replaced window curtain rods and curtains. The windows fit well into the window space. It was obvious that Jay had measured precisely. He insulated and caulked thoroughly. The day after the installation, one window wasn’t closing properly (I had not closed the top properly so the bottom wouldn’t close). Within a half hour, Jay was at my house to remedy the problem.

I highly recommend Jay’s Windows and Siding. Jay has been very pleasant to work with and thoroughly completed the job exactly as he said he would.

I was new to the area and after hearing about the harsh Seattle winters wanted to get some new windows but didn’t know where to start. After searching the internet I found a website that contacted businesses in the local area that specialized in the service you were looking for. Not five minutes went by after submitting my information did Jay call me back, he asked if I was free the following morning which was a Sunday and showed up on time. The appointment lasted less then a half hour during which we went over all of my options, the cost, and samples of each window I was interested in. Jay also made a point to show me his licenses and certifications, something no one else did, and even gave me the name of references that I could call if I had any concerns. Two weeks later he called to tell my the windows were here and ready to be installed, we arranged a date that was convenient and by the time I got home from work the new windows were in and the place was cleaned up, they even put the blinds back up! I have to say my overall experience with Jay’s windows was incredible, the price comparable, the service and professionalism extraordinary. I wish all my home improvement projects could be as easy as they were with Jay’s Windows.
